House and Senate Elect New Leadership teams

After a tumultuous opening day of the legislature in the House and two years of a brutal power struggle, former Senate president Matt Huffman (R-Lima), who was term limited out of the Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ Senate, was elected Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ House Speaker for the 136th General Assembly. As anticipated, Sen. Rob McColley (R-Napoleon), serving his second term in the Senate, was elected Senate President by his caucus.

Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ House Republican Leadership

’s leadership is rounded out by (R-N. Ridgeville) as speaker pro tempore, as assistant speaker pro tempore, (R-Shelby) as majority floor leader, (R-Cincinnati) as assistant majority floor leader and four whips: (R-Upper Sandusky), (R-Bainbridge Twp.), (R-Howland Twp.) and (R-Sylvania Twp.).

Of the leadership team, the following members have co-op service territory in their districts:

  • Speaker Huffman: Midwest Electric, Mid-Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ Energy, Paulding Putnam
  • Rep. Marilyn John: Consolidated, Firelands, The Energy Co-op, and North Central 
  • Rep. Adam Bird: South Central Power
  • Rep. Riordan McClain: Consolidated, Hancock-Wood, Mid-Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ Energy, and North Central
  • Rep. Josh Williams: Tricounty

Minority Leader (D-Upper Arlington) was again elected to lead her caucus. Her includes (D-Columbus) as assistant minority leader, (D-Cincinnati) as minority whip and (D-Toledo) as assistant minority whip.

Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ Senate Republican Leadership 

's leadership includes President Pro Tem (R-Tiffin), Majority Floor Leader (R-Bowling Green) and Majority Whip (West Chester).

Of the leadership team, the following members have co-op service territory in their districts:
