Commitment to Zero Contacts (CtZ) Phase 2

Crew leaders, journeymen, and apprentices at Union Rural Electric take part in a CtZ session.

Phase 2 of the Commitment to Zero Contacts sessions continued in 2023 with nine sessions which were facilitated in conjunction with RESAP. In each session, lineworkers all across the state opened up to discuss the safe work practices that are (or are not) currently being used in the field. There was a wide range of agreed-upon focus areas which included many different areas included in the survey. Each session in Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ includes a closed-door discussion with crew leaders (or all lineworkers at the smaller co-ops) to discover why certain folks answered the survey the way they did and work together to correct issues that arise. The proposed plan is then delivered to the senior operations safety team immediately following the RESAP closing conference and the recommended SIP initiatives include a combination of items brought up in the CtZ session as well as the RESAP observation.
