Last week, Phil Irwin, President and CEO of Federated Insurance, presented OEC with a $38,874 Loss Control Contribution that will be used to support the development and growth of ˿϶Ƶ safety training and loss prevention programming. Over the last 10 years, Federated Insurance has contributed $395,009 to support these programs and services.
"˿϶Ƶ has about 375 lineworkers who work at heights with thousands of volts every day, often in dangerous conditions, like poor weather or precarious pole positions. One bad decision can end a lineworker's career or even life," said Dwight Miller, OEC's Director of Safety Training and Loss Prevention. "Safety and training matter to the families of cooperative lineworkers as well as the co-ops themselves. Receiving funding from organizations like Federated Insurance helps to provide support where it matters most and ensure the ongoing safety of our crews."
