Intel Announces $20B Plan to Build New Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ Factories

On January 21, Governor Mike DeWine announced that Intel, a U.S.-based tech company, to build two state-of-the-art factories by 2025, making the project the largest single private sector company investment in Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ’s history. Intel has selected Licking County as the site for its most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities in the world.

"The Energy Cooperative is excited and proud that this new hub of technology will be situated within our service area. This will be a great benefit to Licking County and the State of Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ," says Todd Ware, President and CEO of , located in Licking County. "We look forward to being part of this growth and working with all the new businesses that will be coming into our service territory."

In total, the project is expected to generate more than 20,000 jobs and add $2.8 billion to Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ’s annual gross state product. Construction is expected to begin in late 2022, with production coming online at the end of 2025.
